A cascade of lacy leaves
Socks have fairly been flying off the needles around here lately….
The latest are the Maidenhair Fern socks, done in Yarn Treehouse Melody, 100% wool. It took two 220 yard skeins. This is the same yarn I used for the Socks of Hideousness but I like the colours much better. They remind me of forest shadows, all green and mysterious. The pattern is a little lacy, and very warm and cozy.
The socks are worked top-down and the pattern is both charted and written out. As always, if you try the pattern and find an error or something that’s not clear, please let me know so I can correct it!

April 5th Update: Allison left me a comment pointing out a typo in the written instructions. Round 15 should read “P1, K4, YO, K3, SSK, K4, P1″. I’ve corrected the file, and anyone who’s relying on the written instructions and downloaded the pattern before today will want to either hand-correct their copy or download the amended version. these are great socks and are definatly on my to do list. I love the pattern and that it is so interesting yet not girly lacy. I love to do a pattern in socks but never like the girly lace that other people like!

Found a typo you should know about. Round 15 of the written pattern says “P1, K4, YO, K3, SSK, K5, P1″
It should be: “P1, K4, YO, K3, SSK, K4, P1″
Don’t worry, I figured that one out in my first repeat of the pattern, and the sock looks lovely so far. Thanks for sharing it!

Gorgeous pattern and I am anxious to start! I downloaded the pattern yesterday. Now I need to order the yarn, but am having trouble. Please tell me what is the colorway number. I do not trust my monitor’s colors. Thank you!
Thanks, LaJuana. I’m sorry that I don’t have the ball band for the yarn any more, so can’t tell you the colourway. I’ve seen it done in some other colours and it looked great in those, so unless you’re really set on the same colour that I used, it will probably work out fine in something close. The colourway of my socks is just a fade from green to purple with a hint of blue.
