Put my fingers into the business end of a stick-blender while it was running, that is. Sigh. I am ever so grateful that the emergency room folks kept their comments to themselves and just patched me up and sent me on my way. Dressing comes off tomorrow, and stitches come out in a week. Except for a missing bit on the side of my index finger, I’ll be good as new.
Now, time to repair to the chaise longue with a box of bonbons and a good book, to be waited on hand and foot by hunky slave-boys while I recuperate over the next week. Oh, wait a minute, that’s someone else’s life…. I guess I’ll just go to the video store to return some over-due DVDs, instead.

I can’t believe you did this! Such a smart girl and so …… OK, no reproach…just best wishes to heal. In the meantime enjoy your chaise longue and what ever you are doing there… Hugs. E.
Ow Ow ow! it hurts just to look at it- be sure to keep your hand elevated on a pillow to keep the swelling to a minimum
Having lost an index finger and tip of thumb (thankfully on the left hand and not my right) due to a stupid accident, I find my heart going out to you. I am so thankful that it wasn’t much worse!! Now, about those pretty boys who will wait on you hand and foot…? Foot massages while reading a good book are always nice! LOL
Oh dear! Will that part of your finger grow back? You still have pretty hands — even with bandages!
Thanks for the advice and good wishes, all. Sherry, after reading about *your* hand accident, I will never ever whine about mine! And Kirsten, no — the little chunk that’s gone from beside my fingernail is gone forever. Now I’ll *never* have a career as a hand model….
Oh well, I’ll put a stop to the copy of your resume I was going to send to Jay Manuel…I’m glad you didn’t lose more of your finger.
